Production Blog...a word from our peers

 


Welcome back scholars to your favorite blog!!! Last time we began taking in peer reviews to make our final task a full success. Being able to get reviews from our peers really helps us look into any things we may have missed. Some things that needed to be fixed were the transitions. Many of our peers stated, they enjoyed our sequence but the transitions were a bit fast. "I feel like you can make your transitions a bit slower, so the viewers can take in the full screen set" I agreed, making the transitions too fast may cause viewers confusion or not enough time to assess the scene. There were a couple of critiques on our acting skills. I was shocked when a peer stated our acting was "pretty good". In personally thought otherwise, but it felt really good to know. Another critique we received was our opening shot. In the beginning it was at a certain angle, making it hard to see the content. With some help, we were able to fix this. Viewers have a better understanding of the context of your film from its conventions. One peer mentioned how a time lapse could add more of an eerie effect on the opening sequence. My group decided to include this towards the end making it very spooky which we intended. It was very helpful having an extra pair of eyes reviewing the film. All of the critiques we received definitely helped, with making the film truly fit into the genre and be a great production as a whole. There are a couple more things to tweak, but overall the hard part is completed. I'm so excited to see the final product and I can't wait for you guys to view it too! Title Research: Terrified…

  (Original title card from the film) Hey scholars, welcome back to my blog. Today we are researching opening sequences to movies. As you know our genre is horror….so let’s get into it!!! The movie I’ll be looking at is “Terrified”. A film made in 1963 by Paul Julian, it is known as one of the most ambiguous and haunting title sequences of his time. By being apart of the golden age of American film productions. Let’s dig deeper into its conventions. 1. What titles are displayed during the opening sequence? During the opening sequence, the names of the actors were displayed as well as the different characters and directors/ producers were recognized.
