Reflection Time

Hey scholars, welcome back to my blog!! So as you may know I completed my “YOU” commercial. I’m pretty happy with the overall outcome. There are some minor things that I wish were better but generally I’m content with the final results. This project took a lot of time especially when trying to add certain effects like the background music to the entire video. If you’re not a pro at editing, then it may be a little aggravating. I was able to figure it out, so it all worked out in the end. I brushed up on my Adobe Photoshop skills. I used this platform to touch up some of my photos used in the video. It was not too difficult using this app because I had previous experience from my computer tech course. I also became very familiar with Capcut, to make my commercial as a whole. Putting things together was generally easy on capcut because that's what the platform was made for, but I did have some issues arise. One problem I had was incorporating my music. I tried many different ways to include the marching band music that I wanted but it was hard. I first tried downloading it, but it wouldn't show up on my media cloud in capcut. I looked through the songs they provided and eventually chose from there to make my life easier. I enjoyed putting my photos together, I was able to discover cool effects and transitions which were added to my commercial. At first it was kind of annoying, because I had to shift everything once a new photo was added or a piece of text. I was also introduced to some features on my phone which I didn't know I had. I used these tools as well to edit my photos/videos. From this project, I learned different editing techniques. It helped me to improve my time management skills. For the next project coming up, for improvements I can make sure to have my videos in better quality. I want to be more efficient with the use of sound, when adding it to my video. Making sure to use different angles, to appeal to my audience. I'm really excited for the next upcoming project, which will be revealed in the next blog. This one really spiked my interest, I have so many ideas already. Stay tuned!!!

Yours Truly, A. LaFrance ;)
